TRAVEL TO BIRMINGHAM
Birmingham, with its well-developed transport infrastructure, is easily accessible for both national and international travellers. Located in the centre of the UK, the city benefits from excellent road, rail and air connections, making it a convenient destination for visitors arriving from across Europe and beyond.
Birmingham Airport is situated approximately 13 km east of Birmingham city centre and serves as the main international gateway to the West Midlands region. The airport operates around 100 flights per day to more than 90 destinations, with over 80 of these routes serving international destinations across Europe and further afield. In total, more than 25 airlines operate from Birmingham, connecting the city to around 37 countries worldwide.
Birmingham Airport offers a wide range of direct flights to major European cities and travel hubs. Frequent services connect Birmingham with destinations such as Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt and Munich, providing convenient onward connections to global destinations through major airline networks. Airlines including KLM and Air France operate regular services from Birmingham to these important European hubs, enabling passengers to easily transfer to flights across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.

By Bus
Birmingham is well-connected via public transport. Within the city, you have the option to travel by bus and the West Midland Metro tram network.
Alternatively, you can jump aboard a local bus which will take you into the heart of Birmingham. Average journey times are 30 minutes from the Airport to the city centre.
By Train
If you’re jumping on the train, you’ll find three stations to choose from, all in the city centre, and all just a short walk from the ICC with New Street Station the closest.
There is also a tram network that connects Birmingham to Wolverhampton, which stops at Centenary Square, just outside the ICC.
From Birmingham airport, you can take a free Air-Rail monorail to the Birmingham International train station, where trains travel to the city centre in approximately 10 minutes.
By car
If you’re driving to the ICC, Birmingham is at the heart of the UK’s motorway networks, close to the M6, M5 and M42. And when you get here, there are thousands of spaces near to the venue. Our closest spaces are at our sister venue Utilita Arena Birmingham (King Edward’s Road, B1 2AA).
Visitors arriving by car will need to be aware of Birmingham’s Clean Air Zone. The ICC and associated visitor car parks are located within this area.
